Solar Inverters Power up with the Sun

Cleveland Solar Inverter Installation

Providing solar inverter solutions in akron, oh and surrounding areas

Every solar energy system needs an inverter to function properly. Our homes are designed to function on alternating current, as it is the standard our grids currently run on. However, by default, solar panels produce direct current or “DC” power. While DC power is extremely useful in many ways, our electrical devices are generally not designed to work with it. This is why a durable, high-capacity inverter is crucial for any solar energy system, and why the team at One Nation Solar is committed to installing only the finest inverters available on the market.

One Nation Solar recognizes that your inverter is one of the single most important features of your energy system, and therefore deserves as much consideration as your panels and any other key component. We’re proud to work with some of the industry’s most recognized names to offer inverters that are not only extremely dependable and built with many desired features and functions, but also offer some of the best warranties around as well.

Solar Inverter Basics

At their core, inverters are remarkably simple devices. They are essentially the gateway that connects your solar energy system to your home’s electrical grid, and the device that ensures that the energy fed into the grid is properly inverted and stabilized for safe and reliable usage. Inverters are typically installed near your electrical panel—including both indoor and outdoor locations. If outdoors, your inverter will be placed in a weatherproof steel box.

Inverters perform all of the following functions:

  • Invert produced power from DC to AC
  • Stabilize voltage at 110-120 volts AC
  • Stabilize the frequency to 60 hertz
  • Properly distribute power to all connected circuits

Some inverters also have additional functions that increase their flexibility even further. For example, if you have an electric vehicle charging system that you wish to power using solar energy, some inverters can direct your solar energy directly over to your EV charger to ensure all charging is done with produced power. Other inverters give you the ability to “island” your property away from the electrical grid temporarily, allowing your solar panels to keep your home powered during outages.
